Technology should improve your life, not become your life

Digital skills training at the NYSC orientation camp, Kano State ,Nigeria has been a very impactful session since the past 4years I’ve been working with Mindthegap on this project of digitising the community especially the youths and business owners. From trainings to debate sessions held in camp, I could point out youths (Corp members) who were part of this program back then in camp and are now owners of their tech business, they are also impacting the society with their technological knowledge and skills, people like Paul onyedikachi ugorji , Ezekiel olaniyan, Sefiu Rasheed adekunle and more. The NYSC schedule officer for Mindthegap Mr Salihu Haladu, head of lectures Mr Isa isiaka, head of CDS Mr Bala Dabo ) encouraged the youths to take whatever they have learned in camp seriously, that as the world is going digital that most of the opportunities out there that are related to digital marketing require digital knowledge and skills. “Having the opportunity to be under the Mindthegap training activities is a broad way to becoming one of rich tech business owners in the world, it is better to make use of this opportunity or go out there to pay huge sum of money to learn what you have free now.”

The NYSC officials  have been of great support to this exercise in the camp for the benefit of the Nigerian youths.

Technology is nothing! What’s important is that you have a faith in people, that they’re basically good and smart, and if you give them tools, they’ll do wonderful things with them,
Modern technology has become a total phenomenon for civilization, the defining force of a new social order in which efficiency is no longer an option but a necessity imposed on all human activity.
